1 ½ pounds boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into 4 pieces
salt and pepper to taste 2 tablespoons butter 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms 2 tablespoons flour 1 can (14 ounces) beef broth 1. Season steaks with salt and pepper; cook steaks in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat to desired doneness. Remove steaks from the skillet, reserving drippings; set aside and keep warm. 2. Heat butter in skillet; add mushrooms and cook until tender. Stir in flour and pepper to taste and cook for 1 minute. Gradually stir in broth. Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens; serve mushroom sauce with steaks. Revised October 2017
