1 ¼ cups sugar
¼ cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla

1. In a medium saucepan, stir together the sugar, flour and salt. Whisk in milk until smooth.  Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until thick, about 5-7 minutes.  Remove from heat and set aside.  Cool to room temperature, stirring occasionally, about 2 hours.

2.  In a large bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy; gradually beat in milk mixture and vanilla.  Beat on high until very smooth and fluffy, about 5-7 minutes.
